Visual identity & exhibition graphics of the exhibition “1821–2021: FEELING OUT the NATIONAL SELF”, organized by the Folklife and Ethnological Museum of Macedonia – Thrace. The main idea for the design was to create a series of “faces” that refer to the Greek national consciousness and memory of 1821 with a mood of introspection and critical evaluation. We are inspired by folk art and shadow theater, by anonymous figures and anthropocentric compositions in wood-carved objects. The visual identity we propose is combined, with a special typography with historical markings, and with a folklore color palette.
